The role: As a Pensions Analyst in our Projects team, you will work with a range of pension projects specialists to deliver a high-quality service for new and existing Buck clients for all the UK offices. You will be working alongside the administration teams and technical specialists in order to produce calculation specifications, maintaining the integrity of calculations signed off. You will work very closely with the Administration team to design and manage new procedures to create new calculations processes for the team to use. You will essential possess experience working within pensions calculations and a thorough understand of Defined Benefits (DB) / Final salary, Hybrid, CARE or Defined contribution (DC) Pensions. This is an excellent opportunity position which will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop their technical skills with access to a variety of schemes to work with. Key responsibilities: + Adhere to team standards, using best practices, project criteria and audit requirements; + Undertakes assigned work in a timely and accurate manor, delivering on agreed target dates; + Work closely with a variety of teams (admin, consultancy, actuarial, PSD) to ensure work progresses seamlessly through to completion; + Supports department in delivering a high-quality service to our clients; + Analysis and interpretation of scheme rules and actuarial instructions; + Identifies process improvement opportunities and supports senior staff with implementation of them; + Produces Project Update Reports for both internal and external clients; + Retain high-level knowledge of legislation within the pension areas; + Perform peer review and ensure own work is peer reviewed as appropriate. What we look for: + Good understanding of DB (defined benefits), Hybrid or CARE Pension experience with good technical knowledge; + Strong final salary calculations experience; + Understanding of pension scheme rules and actuarial instructions; + Experience of GMP rectification or reconciliation exercise is a distinct advantage; + Intermediary to Advance Excel knowledge including pivots and VLOOKUP's (is highly advantageous); + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; + Ability to work productively as a team member and experience of working in a project team; + MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) experience; + Strong communication skills both verbal and written; + Ability to take responsibility for quality of own work and using their initiative; + Able to build constructive working relationships characterised by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
