The role: As a Pensions 'Scheme Events' Specialist in our Projects team, you will work with a range of pension projects specialists to deliver a high-quality service for new and existing Buck clients for all the UK offices. You will possess experience working within pensions calculations, data analysis and will ideally have thorough understand of Defined Benefits (DB) / Final salary, Hybrid, CARE or Defined contribution (DC) schemes. The Pension Events Specialist will be responsible for the following projects; + Production of Annual Benefit Statements for DB (defined benefits) and CARE Schemes; + Production of SMPI Statements for DC (defined contribution) and AVC (additional voluntary contribution) schemes; + Producing and issuing Annual Allowance Statements; + Calculating and processing Annual Pension Increases; + Producing Letters and Mailings; + Running Valuation Extracts and Reports; + Reviewing and validating data. Other key responsibilities: + Adhere to team standards, using best practices, project criteria and audit requirements; + Undertakes assigned work in a timely and accurate manor, delivering on agreed target dates; + Work closely with all teams (admin, consultancy, actuarial, PSD) to ensure work progresses seamlessly through to completion; + Supports department in delivering a high-quality service to our clients; + Analysis and interpretation of scheme rules and actuarial instructions; + Identifies process improvement opportunities and supports senior staff with implementation of them; + Retain high-level knowledge of legislation within the pension areas; + To peer review and ensure own work is peer reviewed as appropriate; + Support the achievement of the company Mission & Goals related to client service delivery; + Supports with resolution of errors and omissions and implements corrective and preventative procedures; + Takes ownership of service delivery to assigned clients; + Maintains up to date procedure guides/checklists and highlights enhancements and improvement opportunities; + Act as a subject matter expert regarding administrative procedures and helps to resolve problems of a complex nature; + Seek opportunities to develop and improve the service delivery for both existing and prospective clients. What we look for: + Good understanding of DB (defined benefits), Hybrid or CARE Pension experience with good technical knowledge; + Strong final salary calculations experience; + Experience of DC or AVC scheme is also highly advantageous; + Understanding of pension scheme rules and actuarial instructions; + Intermediary to Advance Excel knowledge including pivots and VLOOKUP's (is highly advantageous); + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; + Ability to work productively as a team member and experience of working in a project team; + MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) experience; + Strong communication skills both verbal and written; + Ability to take responsibility for quality of own work and using their initiative; + Able to build constructive working relationships characterised by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
