Schneider Electric Systems UK Limited has a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as a Field Engineer. Mission: Provide life cycle support for Schneider Electric (Foxboro and Triconex) and third-party Automation solutions specifically regarding Installation, Maintenance, repair and retrofits. Present a professional & efficient image to Schneider Electric customers. Provide Technical support to internal and external Customers. Seek business opportunities at all times in order to promote the business growth. Duties to include but not limited to: 1. Performs installation, start up and commissioning of Schneider Electric products at the system level. 2. May perform preventative and remedial maintenance on non-company instruments and/or systems. 3. Troubleshoots mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and determines the most cost effective repair/resolution to minimise customer downtime. 4. Prepares site reports detailing product failure trends and service reliability issues. 5. Develops routine upgrade plans and may lead upgrade projects. 6. Discusses instrument and system maintenance agreement details with customers to ensure understanding. 7. Serves as a mentor and technical resource to Associate Service Engineers. 8. Identifies upgrade opportunities and alerts the Service team members to further investigate and qualify the opportunities. 9. Consults with the customer and provides solutions for service or productivity issues. 10. Provides on-demand, baseline level customer training, as needed. 11. Identifies "out of scope" situations that require re-contracting or additional resources to meet customer needs, deliverables and deadlines and works with the Project Manager or Service leadership to address them. 12. Attends site surveys and provides reports to Sales that enable accurate service or project quotes. 13. Increases margins by minimising re-work and complying with Schneider Electric's Engineering Procedures Manual. ** Non - Technical **** Experience ** Essential Bachelor's Degree, and proven, appropriate experience in engineering related subject. Displays leadership qualities, self-motivated to achieve and demonstrates ownership of job role responsibilities. Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Ability to work alone both onshore and offshore in pressurised situations to resolve client issues. Technical Experience Essential Detailed technical understanding of Industrial Automation (DCS) Detailed technical knowledge and understanding of process control Detailed technical knowledge of MS Office packages, including Project Desirable Understanding of Networking Fundamentals, interface protocols (including Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, OPC), firewall concepts and McAfee ePO & WSUS configuration and deployment Diversity is our heritage and our future.
