Job Description

Role Summary: The role will be responsible for leading the design, development and introduction of a data science based approach to price setting for the business. The individual will promote the usage of statistical tools and a common pricing platform (Price machine). The individual will provide strategic advice on dynamic pricing approaches and defining segments for which pricing strategies may vary. Essential Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of statistical tools to sanitize, segment and normalize historical pricing information and master invoice data sets to aid price segmentation Partner with the OFS pricing leader to define segmentation approach, executing and providing modeling oversight to data analysts and developers Lead the deployment of quantitative analysis tools that leverage statistical techniques such as Python and R programming to find solutions to optimization problems Develop price optimization algorithms that incorporate historical win-loss data, segment reference price, asset availability and external market indicators (WTI/Brent) information Partner with Global excellence and DT to operationalize pricing platform for the business Act as a change agent promoting the understanding of price segmentation models, and work with region and PL stakeholders to highlight areas for price opportunity and risk Familiarity with areas of technology (DevOps, databases, application development, analytics, architecting solutions on AWS cloud technologies) an advantage Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in research, statistics, math, economics, or related analytical discipline 5+ years of relevant work experience Desired Characteristics: Highly numerate: natural aptitude at gathering, analyzing and leveraging data to make key business decisions Prior experience with price optimization modeling, knowledge of Python, SAS (statistical software analysis) an advantage Appreciation of computational/efficiency considerations in designing methods of solution Ability to simplify complex problems and can-do mindset Ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally with business partners About Us: GE (NYSE:GE) drives the world forward by tackling its biggest challenges.
