Tooling - Lead Hand

Role Summary/Purpose The roles primary responsibility is for the maintenance and delivery of Test Equipment for successful manufacture of XT Product. Following site procedures to maintain maintenance schedules and working with the Manufacturing Specialist to develop equipment needs and purchase out-side services. The successful candidate must be confident in computing systems and have a good knowledge off Industrial Tooling, Assembly practice, Pressure Testing and Torque practice. EssentialResponsibilities + Set Up/ Maintain equipment for delivery to Productionlines + Liaise with production teams to meet day-to-day,short-term planning objectives + Resolve equipment availability issues throughimmediate action to maintain production + Follow closely project progress throughproduction to react to any changes to test schedules + Maintain all tooling calibration and plannedmaintenance schedules to ensure continuity + Maintain a database of all test equipment andrequirements to enable easy identification, planned maintenance and locationmanagement + Develop test equipment storage and managementwithin the work locations to reduce lost time + Facilitate the manufacture of new test equipmentin a timely manner for production start up + Continue to develop work area and practicesthrough sites continuous improvement practice + Advise Training Department on testing practicefor development off training plans + Supervision of Apprentice and Fitters (asneeded) to deliver test equipment PrincipalAccountabilities Test Equipment Planning: + Setting of test equipmentidentified in Project FATs or as identified by Manufacturing Specialist + Maintenance of testequipment for service continuity + Problem Solving of GeneralTooling and Test Equipment functions Test Equipment Maintenance: + Repair and service of testequipment + Support development offMaintenance Plans + Upload of Test EquipmentCertificates and data to a central database + Maintenance of database data Test Equipment Cell: + Development and maintenanceof test equipment storage + Management of Apprentices/Fitters (as needed) to maintain facility and equipment Training/ development: + Supervision of Apprentice + Support development ofin-house training Qualifications/Requirements + Time served in a recognised MechanicalApprenticeship + PC Literate and proficient in the MicrosoftOffice Suite incl.
