Job Description
Love data? Love music? The Amazon Music team is looking for a brilliant, creative, and passionate professional to join our Business Intelligence team. The responsibilities include developing self-serve and automated tools that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Digital Music Business Intelligence & Data Science team, as well as partnering with the central Data Engineering team to develop central solutions that meet the Business Intelligence & Data Science team's requirements. You will help lead the way in defining and optimizing how we handle data in the Business Intelligence team. The Core Business Intelligence team develops processes, tooling and metrics to help the broader Business Intelligence & Data Science team raise their standards of work, but also has the opportunity to influence across Amazon Music and the wider Amazon organization. We deal in AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, EMR, and EC2, and also work with Spark, Airflow, and Tableau. We assess new technologies that can help Amazon Music delight our customers. This role requires you to focus on the data end to end, from producers to consumers. You will develop an understanding of our data, analytical techniques, and how to connect insights to the business, and you will gain practical experience in insisting on the highest standards on operations in ETL and big data pipelines. With our Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music services, and our top music provider spot on the Alexa platform, providing high quality, high availability data to our internal customers is critical to our customer experiences. Our ideal candidate has a combination of strong technical skills, superb analytical capabilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with one of the largest and most complex data warehouses in the world to support how the team gathers insights using data from across Amazon. You will work closely with the broader Business Intelligence and central Data Engineering teams to solve unique problems and find answers to questions that require tenacious problem solving and creativity. Data-driven decision making is at the core of Amazon's culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for the Amazon Music Team. Key Responsibilities Contribute to maintenance of and manage projects for the evolution of our data / analytical environments (e.g. Redshift, S3, EMR, EC2) Partner with our central Data Engineering team to enhance data infrastructure, data quality, and data availability, in order to improve internal customer access to high impact customer insights Proactively develop new metrics and projects to drive desired data management practices for operations in ETL and big data pipelines Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes to support large scale data analysis Join a large and growing BI/Data Science team to leverage extensive music listening data to better understand customers and contribute to product and marketing strategy
