Vacancy: Winder Fitter Competitive hourly rate + over time with Bonus Scheme & Benefits Package Location: Birmingham Do you like seeing projects though from start to completion? Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference? Do you have knowledge of the repair and rewind of electrical motors and generators. You will be working supervised and, in some instances, unsupervised here at the Birmingham service centre and at customers sites (International and Local) also supporting other UK based service centres. The Role: Repair and rewind of motors and generators. The work will be completed at Sulzer Service Centres and at customers' sites. As found inspections of large high voltage motor and generators reporting on the condition of electrical and mechanical components including stators, rotors and exciters etc - documenting findings and reporting back to supervision with possible repair and recovery options. Detailing the core and coils, documenting the information that will be used for coil and winding kit ordering. Stator core refurbishment in the form of burn out and removal of old coils, Flux testing of the core / Clean and prepare for rewind. Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions. About you: Formal apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical engineering is preferred. Ability to operate large industrial equipment such as cranes.
