Job Description

**Role Summary:** Works on multiple projects as a technical expert or internal consultant. Works on projects for components of the domain. Works either multiple technical or functional domains. Participates in the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction. Coaches and mentors team members. **Essential Responsibilities:** Assists in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint. Gathers and analyzes data and develops architectural requirements at project level. Participates in the Infrastructure architecture governance model. Supports the development of software, data, and technology. Contributes to the designs and deployment of infrastructure solutions meeting standardization, consolidation, TCO, security, regulatory compliance and application system qualities, for different businesses. Researches and evaluates emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities. **Qualifications/Requirements:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent knowledge or experience + Significant experience working on infrastructure projects + Excellent customer facing communications skills + Ability to create documentation for processes and procedures (creating KBs, whitepapers, topology diagrams) + Hyper-V/VMWare Certification + Legal authorization to work in the U.K. is required. For further information please visit the UK Border Agency website at **Desired Characteristics:** Technical Expertise: + Experience working in cloud environment such as Azure. + Experience with tools like perforce and GitHub for source code configuration and CI Tools such as Jenkins. + Experience understanding the virtual machine technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V. + Experience in server maintenance and backup strategies in a 24/7 environment. + Experience establishing and controls systems access and security. + Experience maintaining and testing disaster recovery plans. + Have a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application + Can break down problems and estimate time for development tasks and make basic technology choices based on experience + Agile/Scrum experience preferred. + Strong understanding of firewalls, load balancers and networking concepts. + Experience working with vulnerability/security tools. + Networking Certification desired. + Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry Leadership: + Can take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary + Voices opinions and presents clear rationale.
