Functional Safety Engineer

Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Functional Safety Engineer with relevant experience in the Automation sector. Working with a variety of disciplines in the automation engineering team across a variety of projects to provide a robust process to ensure our compliance with relevant machinery safety legislation. This will require involvement at all stages of the process from design through to commissioning. Responsibilities include: + Create, update and roll out safety processes to staff. + Monitor Functional Safety Designs and design process across the various disciplines and projects within the business. + Monitor adherence to the Safety process. + Create Schedule and log procedure of safety audits and performance. + Working with engineers, maintain working documents such as considerations manual, checklists etc. + Be available for specific engineering problems from a safety perspective. + Be available to interface with customers to clearly define our expectations and requirements regarding data/info received. + Report on safety training requirements and administer the same. + Keep abreast of safety standards and roll out impact on the business. + Involved and offer guidance on establishing our test procedures and develop test standards. Relevant Safety qualifications such as TUV certified preferred. Demonstrable experience in a Functional Safety role in Automation or Control Systems environments is required. Proficient witrh EN60204,BS EN13849 1&2, BS EN 62061 and BS EN 61508. Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
