Job Description

After the remarkable success of The Madhatter Gin & Tea Party in London, Los Angeles and New York: the Madhatter Gin & Tea party is coming to Manchester. Therefore we are looking for a General Manager for this pop up immersive experience to join our team for 3 months. The contract might be extended based on the success of the project. The experience is a 1.5h cocktail immersive experience based on Alice in the Wonderland. The show runs several times per day (from 3 to 6 depending on the weekday) from Thursday to Sunday. This is a full time position where you are expected to work 5 days a week (3 to 4 onsite and 1 to 2 remotely). Duration: From mid March to end of June Your job description: + Recruitment and training of bar staff + Develop and run a process for the set up before shows and well as the reset of the venue between shows + Set up a coordinated system for storage and handling of stock + Stock management & ordering of mixers, ice & food as well as other supplies needed for the experience + Hiring and management of suppliers if needed + Coordination of schedules & invoicing of staff members including bar staff, actors and tech personnel within budget + Coordination of shows (you are in charge of giving the go for each and assuring that everyone is in position, you might also need to coordinate some lighting and sound effects during the show) + Daily management of social media accounts including instagram messages & escalated user support requests + Weekly reporting on daily issues to management + Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and safety in the venue + Handle any problems/ special requests with guests Your profile: + You have previous bar or pop-up show experience + You are highly motivated and with a high energy profile. You are used to engage with the public and are able to stick to strict schedules for reset between shows + You have an entrepreneurial attitude + You are able to work autonomously and at your own initiative + You have excellent communication (persuading, negotiating and influencing skills) + You know how to plan your own time appropriately to maximise business performance + You are able to work under pressure + You are great at recruiting new and charismatic staff + You are well connected within the hospitality industry + You are passion for experiential hospitality experiences + You are legally allowed to work in the UK + You are able to join our team from Manchester Conditions + Competitive salary + A fun working environment in a vibrant and dynamic new business in a premium location in Manchester + Opportunity to continue the activation past the the 3 months + Further potential opportunities to work within the events industry
