Job Description

POSITION SCOPE To provide materials and packaging for all Packing Departments, load finished pallets onto trailers while ensuring the warehousing space is effectively utilised. POSITION STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND KEY DELIVERABLES + 14 packaging lines with many varied SKUs, and complex syrup processing equipment. + Approximately 20,000 tonnes throughput per annum of high value sugar base products that are distributed to customers in the UK and worldwide + 30 million units of syrup products per year + 5,000 tonnes of small packet dry sugar and sweetener products per year DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES + Ensure the highest standards within Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Environmental. + Adherence to BRC and customer standards with accurate recording of operational data. + Accurately label & scan finished product pallets into SAP + Loading finished products efficiently onto correct trailers and completing final quality check on products. + Be flexible, willing to learn & committed to working as team to ensure department targets are met. + Unload materials & packaging from trailers, ensuring they match the delivery note. + Accept Bulk sugar deliveries including paper work. + Staging packing materials in the correct location on packing floor following FIFO principles & minimizing double handling. + Carry out cleaning & organizing of all working areas, keeping ground floors tidy and report any defects etc. + Remove cardboard and returnable packaging for recycling & bale where necessary. + Ensure warehouse areas are organised and materials & packaging stored safely to optimise use of space. + Operating associated machinery safely and efficiently. + Material released under 'concession' minimised by ensuring quality checks maintained and careful handling methods. ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) + Good communication skills. + Good problem solving and fault finding skills. + Disciplined & organised in following procedures. + Basic planning skills to ensure routine activities can be completed. + Positive attitude and commitment to working in a team. + Commitment to learning & for continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES + Previous experience in a Packing or Warehousing role. + Counterbalance forklift licence.
