This could be the new exciting career opportunity you are looking for! We have an outstanding opportunity to join the Technical team in one of our Manufacturing areas, as a Consumables Process Owner. Working in partnership with the Process Execution Team (PET) Circle leaders you'll define, measure, and control the use of critical and non-critical consumables as part of the production process. The PET includes 5 separate plant facilities, carrying out the processing, primary and secondary packaging activities for two different products, one of which is a substantial part of AstraZeneca's Oncology portfolio. Demand is growing and therefore there's significant ongoing capital investment in new technology. This investment is coupled with a requirement to drive productivity and efficiency through effective use of standards, specifications and supplier relationships to ensure sustainable growth over the long term. If you are eager to develop your technical and process knowledge, this role will give you the opportunity to work end to end across the production process. Ensuring you have specific responsibility for supporting robust supply and quality performance, whilst driving increased value. Your ability to identify areas for improvement, balance change and mitigate risk will be essential to the future of the business area. Responsibilities: Ensuring the consumables process is visible, you will identify sources of variability and opportunity. You'll understand the technical and quality specifications of the consumables and work across teams and processes to assess their criticality to supply or quality. Focusing on proposals to ensure compliance, competitive value or improved product/process robustness, you'll ensure impact assessment and change implementation across processes is effective. You'll ensure that the requirements of the consumables process are considered when new assets, people, products, components or raw materials are introduced. In particular we'll expect you to ensure that future growth can be achieved in a balanced way with reduced risk to quality and supply. Finding opportunities to improve our consumables supply chain, you will engage with vendors, contract managers and quality roles to ensure business needs are actively managed. You'll be responsible for ensuring compliance of both yourself and others aligned to internal and external regulations through the understanding of relevant policies, procedures, laws, regulations and codes of business. You'll act as a contributor to internal and external regulatory inspections, via technical guidance and as the prime authority for the consumables process. You should be confident in ensuring that the expert package(s) you own are current and maintained. Essential Skills + Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing, hands-on manufacturing environment. + Strong technical background, preferably with some supply chain knowledge and analytical skills to develop solutions/make judgements within general operating guidelines. + Experience of working in/around a cGMP environment, you will have attention to detail and high standards of written work. + Ability to influence others through engaging key partners in a compelling manner. + Ability to build competence, support and provide clarity to others through adoption of various leadership styles (mentoring, teaching, role modelling etc). + Naturally innovative, you'll utilise facts and data to drive risk-based change/decision making and to challenge the norm when required.
