Our client is a leading UK Financial Services firm that has enjoyed exceptional growth in the past few years they are now seeking a Content Specialist to join their expanding marketing team. Description This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, proactive and engaged content specialist to join a dynamic team within a rapidly evolving company in a varied role with significant potential for personal development. The role entails managing and producing web and other content (e.g. articles, web page content, guides, newsletter, emails, brochures) across the group with a particular focus on wealth management. The focus will be on B2C, with some B2B requirements. Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with demonstrable content writing skills and the ability to tailor this by channel. This includes researching and planning content to engage with the audience. An interest in or experience of financial services is preferred. You will have good stakeholder liaison skills and the ability to work with others to generate engaging content. Your responsibilities Create content for the company website ensuring content on the website stays up to date and relevant. Understand how to use SEO or targeting keywords to identify topics for content opportunities which resonate with the target audience and optimise the content. Work with the senior marketing manager and social media manager to develop an editorial calendar which takes account of hot topics for the audience and within the financial services calendar and aligns with short and long-term marketing targets. Collaborate with marketing and design teams to plan and develop website content, style and layout. Identify possible internal and external writers where more specialist content is required. Brief third-party writers for significant pieces and ensure agreed outlines of content meets the desired outcomes. Edit and proof-read all content written elsewhere to ensure consistency with tone of voice and relevance to target audience. Repurpose content for different mediums including audio and video and brief production of podcasts and videos as required to meet content plan. Measure and report on the effectiveness of content produced against agreed metrics which will be engagement or conversion according to need. Stay up-to-date with industry and competitor developments and generate new ideas to engage the audience. Ensure all content is fully compliant (e.g. copyright and data protection, financial services promotion) working with the internal Risk team. Requirements Genuine proven work experience as a content manager/copywriter, ideally in financial or professional services. Experience of writing for a mass affluent, 40+ audience preferred. Good knowledge of MS Office. Basic to good knowledge, or ability to learn, use of web content management systems (experience with Sitecore and/or Umbraco would be a further benefit). Knowledge of content optimisation for SEO, ideally able to use web analytics provided by marketing analyst to further improve this. Ability to brief external designers on layout requirements and integrate design and content to create engaging content piece. Familiarity with social media and how to create content for these channels (currently Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter). Highly articulate with an excellent command of written English. A creative mind with an ability to generate interesting ideas for new content. Strong attention to detail. Good organisational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple projects. Strong stakeholder liaison skills. A team player who is willing to be flexible. A good degree in journalism, marketing, or a relevant field. Resilient, able to work under pressure.
