We are currently recruiting a Project Engineer with experience of SCS (Structured Cabling Systems) to join our project delivering installations across the South & West.on an MOD site in Lakenheath, Suffolk. The Project Engineer will report into a Project Manager, working alongside another Project Engineer to deliver a project of cabling of copper (Cat6) & fibre optic (OS2) networks, setting out of new Comms rooms, including the installation of communications cabinets, coordinating with other trades for other Services such as electrical works and working to construction based drawings, patching schedules, schematics & face plans, must be able to coordinate, update & liaise with CAD to update all drawings The Project Engineer will successfully plan and control day-to-day activities in support of the project, in order to deliver on time, to cost, quality and customer satisfaction objectives as defined by the Project Manager. In addition to this, they will supervise field-based staff and subcontractors as required. This role is a minimum of a 2 year fixed term contract for the duration of the project and the successful candidate will require SC Clearance at a minimum. Responsibilities You will: * Project Delivery - To manage all related activities to the successful completion of the projects in line with agreed quality and commercial plans to achieve targets within agreed timescales and cost constraints. * Technical - Ensuring design and installation meets internal and client specifications and statutory requirement * Monitoring & reporting of progress against an agreed programme of works * Identifying & assisting the Project Manager with change control, including adds, omits & delays, having the ability to create bill of materials (Excel) * Producing quality audit reports for internal use, including snagging of works & remedial action plans * Implementation & monitoring of Inspection & test plans including equipment calibration & correct settings * Team Leadership - To provide leadership for the project delivery team and to maximise the potential of the team and the individuals within. * Have evident experience of the installation of Structured Cabling Systems (Cat5e, Cat6 & Cat6a systems) * Fully conversant with the setup and operation of Fluke Analysers * Experience in the installations of fibre optics * Logically breaks a situation into its component parts, identify the root cause of problems and critically evaluate and assess the impact. * Plan future activities - Identify relevant milestones associated with a long term project and plan the sequence of key events Requirements You will have: * SC Clearance (Security Clearance) * UKATA (CAT A) Asbestos Awareness(desirable) * CSCS / ECS Card * Minimum of SSSTS, SMSTS desirable. * PASMA/IPAF * Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI) Accreditation (desirable) About Us We are one of the leading independent engineering and services businesses in the UK.
