Our customers are looking to detect financial crime - our Adverse Information and Media (AIM) Insights product allows them to do this via advanced machine learning and sophisticated data processing pipelines to recognise and catalog criminal activity from the vast amount of news data published around the world. We are looking for someone to lead the engineering and data science team that develops this product - you will support these people, and continue to push the boundaries of fighting financial crime with cutting edge technology. In that time, we have raised over $35m in funding, opened offices in New York, Singapore and Romania, and have grown to over 260 employees, and we're not stopping there! See what our employees have to say onGlassdoor The role You will join as a Senior Engineering Manager, leading the engineering and data science team that is responsible for the Adverse Media Insights product. This team is a collection of almost 20 top-notch ML engineers, software engineers and data scientists, and one of your key roles will be to support, develop and grow the team and the Engineering Managers that lead these functions to enable an environment of excellence and close collaboration. You will also be the primary engineering and data science touch-point for the AIM Insights product - liaising with other engineering/product teams and other areas of the business while working closely with the product manager to shape the best product for our customers. This will involve shaping the short and long-term roadmap in close collaboration with the engineering/data science team, and working with the executive team and important customers to ensure the success of the product. What does success look like In your first 12 months? You have continued to grow and develop the team, including expanding the nascent data science function, and made a significant impact on the career development of the Engineering Managers. You would have enabled the successful release of key features on the product roadmap, which continues the movement of the product into Tier-1 banks, supporting the wider team whenever possible in this complex area. You have helped formulate the long-term strategy of the AIM Insights product, taking into account the right technical innovations and approach to data science that allows us to continually innovate and stay at the forefront of advances in this area. Requirements * A strong fundamental understanding of the data science lifecycle and data quality - as a financial crime company, data is key. You should have experience in working on and delivering ML-powered products. * A desire to develop and grow a high performing team. * Experience in data-focused product development of teams of over 15-20 people in size. * Experience leading data scientists and/or ML Engineers * Experience of leading software engineering teams * Experience in NLP is nice to have.
