Job Description

DevOps / WinOps Engineer - Azure - Software House Our client has developed their own cloud-based eCommerce software product utilised within the entertainment/leisure sector. They are the leaders in their field and are going through a period of global and new market expansion. Their platform transfers £millions through its platform on a weekly basis and makes half a Billion transactions annually! You will be joining a central London based team of over 120 employees, based across London, Manchester and New York offices and working with over 300 clients within the entertainment sector. This is a super exciting role where you will be helping our client migrate from privately managed to their new Azure production environments that are hosting large SaaS applications. They are around 6 months through the programme. Our client are slow transferring parts of the co-lo private cloud and moving it into either Azure IaaS or Azure PaaS depending on its use. Once the on-prem/co-lo migration to Azure project is complete (at least another 6months work) our client will then need you to build out a mirrored platform to different global regions to facilitate their global growth.Our client's tech stack for your reference: * Azure - Multi-Geography locations and large scale! * Windows Server / IIS Web Server / Linux Server * Legacy Co-Lo hosting in private cloud (Citrix XenServer) and AWS * NetScaler load balancers, VyOS firewalls * Azure Web Containers, Also looking at Azure Service Fabric * Terraform for IaC but also using some ARM - expierience in either is good! * PowerShell DSC & some Puppet configuration management * PowerShell / Bash / Python scripting * CI/CD = Azure DevOps * Internal Zabbix and Grafana, external Pingdom and StatusCake monitoring * Any .NET useful as the developers are .NET but this is a nice to have Project Management * JIRA / Trello / Confluence / Google Apps Primary duties you will be working on in this role: * Deploy, run and support the 24/7 SaaS platform, including rota based on-call duties * Ensure the migration to Azure and cloud optimisation of services is delivered to plan * Automate the tasks related to the provisioning servers, network infrastructure and applying OS patches * Resolve critical system issues in collaboration with the development and support teams * Ensure SLAs for scalability, reliability, performance, load testing, security, and feature delivery are met through monitoring, alerting and Application Performance Management (APM) * Ensure system and database backup/business continuity processes are in place and regularly tested * Ensure PCI-DSS compliance * Work with the core IT functions on common areas such as Active Directory, network configuration, asset and license management.
