ENERGY CONSULTANT THE COMPANY We are recruiting for a specialist in project implementation in utilities (water, electricity and fossil fuels). Our client specialises in energy-saving turnkey solutions for major commercial and industrial consumers. The client acts as an EPC company, (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and deliver utility cost savings through engineered implementations with defined payback times. Since their inception the company has had numerous energy-saving solutions for all types of high profile companies by applying unique and flexible business models which guaranties full implementation including advisory, execution and project management skills. Our client provides all the required expertise to develop and implement energy reduction projects, including operational resources such as engineers and project managers. THE ROLE: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Energy Consultant to join our UK Engineering team in our Energy Reduction Business working with clients at locations nationally. In addition to identifying, developing and delivering energy reduction projects, the role will involve active participation in business development and weekly travel around the UK to including both regular attendances at our London office and client sites. Reporting to and working closely with the Energy Manager, the role will include: * Conduct technical site surveys to identify and quantify utility cost savings opportunities, which will ultimately lead to commercially viable cost reduction projects. * Technical analysis of manufacturing environments to identify and technically evaluate energy reduction opportunities in both process and non-process areas. * Business case and project development including technical and commercial risk analysis. * Develop general specifications for technical projects, equipment and contractors. * Estimating materials, construction and project costs. * Provide reliable cost and investment estimates and verifications of proposed solutions (with/without the involvement of suppliers and possible sub-contractors) * Provide clear inputs to management on project economy and risk-evaluation (internal & external) * Delegation of tasks and responsibility to Project and Site Managers. * Business development activities including presentation of our range of services to potential clients. All appointments will be arranged by our sales team. * Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and development * Contribute/support project management as required during implementation. * Manage the customer technical interface and relationship at Operations Manager and Engineering Manager level. * Be an active part of the technical sales and project delivery process for new client business. * Contribute to client presentations and delivery. EXPERIENCE: Experience in business development, field sales, or internal sales environment. Good technical engineering expertise in Mechanical, Electrical and Thermal applications to implement energy reduction solutions in the following areas: * Inverters / Variable speed drives (VSDs), base load reduction, compressed air, pumps, drives, motors, hydraulics, HVAC/extraction, refrigeration, LED Lighting, CHP (Combined Heat & Power), Biomass systems, heat pumps and heat recovery. * A solid understanding of building engineering services for commercial buildings. * A solid understanding of industrial and commercial TPM requirements. * Excellent data analysis and data interpretation skills. * Energy management. * Project management. * Familiarity with IPMVP, ESOS, EU ETS, CCAs, EPBD, EED, ISO50001. ESSENTIAL: * Minimum 7-10 years' practical experience as Utility/Energy Advisor or Consultant, Energy/Utility Manager, Consulting Engineer specifying and implementing utility (savings) equipment or turn-key projects, energy contract manager or the like. Alternatively, you have 10 years' process experience within the industrial, manufacturing, food, beverage, dairy, pulp & paper, or pharmaceutical industries. * Commercially minded with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with many different stakeholders. * Master's Degree (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Energy, Thermal, Renewables, or similar). * Valid UK driving licence. * UK residency PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: * Customer focused and results oriented * Good technical and commercial skills * Strong communication, relationship, influencing and negotiating skills with customers and colleagues * Open minded with a pragmatic, flexible attitude * Self-motivated with the personal drive to complete tasks to required time-scales and quality standards * Used to taking and executing initiatives on your own and working without close supervision * A team player with good cooperation and collaboration skills * A generalist with the ability to think outside the box * Have the ability to coach and support other project team members DESIRABLE: * Chartered Energy Manager or similar/equivalent * P
