The department of Energy Markets & Technology NL&UK of DNV GL covers a wide range of topics bridging business and market drivers and technical solutions with a focus on the Energy Transition. We serve utilities, network operators or other infrastructure companies, large industries, governmental organizations, regulators as well as developers and investors in the energy market to realize their goals and ambitions. We are currently expanding our market position in the UK. Therefore, we are looking for a Consultant to strengthen the London-based team. Our focus there is currently on the provision of business, strategic and regulatory advice to utilities and other stakeholders in energy markets and demand-side flexibility. As the developments in this sector strongly depend on local market circumstances and regulations, we are looking for a person with knowledge of current and future UK energy market arrangements, who can support us in realizing our growth ambitions in the UK. Your tasks & responsibilities As a Consultant, you will be part of a customer-centric environment and bring expertise in energy markets and regulations to our customers both as a team member and project leader. You will be actively working on the acquisition and execution of projects for our clients alongside business development activities to identify and develop market opportunities, advance our existing services and establish new services. The projects will be mainly related to the transition towards renewable energy sources and production assets, transmission and distribution grids, business processes or the techno-economic feasibility of innovations. Next to that, your responsibilities will be to: + advise our clients in our projects about current and future energy systems and markets; + develop subject matter expertise in this role in combination with the role of the project manager; + contribute to clear and high-quality presentations and reports; + collaborate effectively with colleagues and experts in projects; + sell new projects to grow our business; + build a network with potential clients; + identify market opportunities and develop our services based on these market needs; + write winning proposals for our customers. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic colleague who is a team player who actively contributes to the success of our team and collaborates to create results. On top of that you have: + master's degree in business, economics or technical field with a specialization in Energy; + strong knowledge of energy markets (market models, regulations etc.); + knowledge of the local UK markets and regulations; + profound work experience in a similar role as a consultant; + a strong network in the UK energy market; + a natural aptitude to combine the execution of projects with selling new projects; + motivation to develop an understanding of the technical consequences of a business decision as well as of the business consequences of a technical decision; + excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; + eagerness to travel and to spend about 10% of your time abroad (differs per role).
