Job Description

WHAT IS THE JOB? Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are satisfied for data-focused projects Analyzing data applications for correctness Coach and ensure excellent quality assurance measures are followed by your team Coaching members of staff to improve overall testing and technical skills Designing and executing script-based testing techniques Executing context-based, exploratory or scenario-based testing techniques Identify test case candidates for automation Logging and tracking defects in accordance with department standards WHAT WILL YOU DO? Working with dh product management and technical teams to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are clear, accurate and testable Evaluate, plan, design, develop and deploy testing techniques for new applications, products and/or enhancements to existing applications Ensure that testing activities will allow applications to meet business requirements, fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve systems issues Testing data accelerators and ensuring data integrity Identify test case candidates for automation Drive performance testing and identify performance, load, stress and soak test scenarios Execute automated tests in accordance with the test plan or as otherwise directed Constructing data sets for use in testing Design tests through the API and automate where possible Identify and seek opportunities for the continual improvement of processes, procedures and infrastructure within QA and Engineering to improve quality, increase efficiency, reduce risk and provide stability Gather and analyse data to identify and track trends Contribute to the pre-testing phase of product development by evaluating proposals to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations Drive error identification, logging, and tracking in accordance with departmental standards Collaborate and build professional business relations with other members of Product Development and across dunnhumby WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE Technical Skills BA/BSc degree or equivalent work experience required Strong experience of working with data analytics software packages Experience working in an Agile Scrum or Kanban development environment Strong contribution to Planning and Story sessions Strong SQL skills Experience with at least one automated test tool, Cypress, Selenium, NUnit Strong working experience of performance testing tools and their implementation Exceptional manual exploratory, charter, session-based testing techniques BDD development methodology and gherkin based frameworks API level test automation Extensive experience creating test cases and managing them in a test case management tool Strong initiative taking, proactive approach and enthusiasm for delivering high quality software, assisting development processes and problem solving Quick learner, able to pick up complex features and consider wider impact Good understanding of QA processes and methodologies Exceptional attention to detail Desired: * ISTQB Advanced Test Manager Essential: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any subject.
