Summary The EMEA Centre of Expertise supports the Wiley monthly, quarterly and annual US GAAP regional close process. The position is responsible for supporting the CoE Senior Accountant in ensuring accurate accounting treatment, evaluating internal controls and establishing efficient close processes for the EMEA region. Key responsibilities: * Prepare various Prepaid Schedules and post monthly journals * Exchange Rate Maintenance * Accretion & Depreciation Journals for ROU Agents * Assist the CoE Senior Accountant and ASC in Noida to drive efficiencies and process standardization * Freight Accruals * Participate in year end and quarterly audits by External Audit * Marketing Accruals * Support and provide regular KPI and status updates to Senior Management * Sublease Income Review * Various month end journals and processes as required * Balance Sheet Reconciliations & variance analysis * Ad-hoc projects Skills required: * Minimum of 2 years Financial Accounting or Management Accounts experience in a commercial finance environment. Understanding of internal financial controls. * Knowledge of accounting systems * Excel - intermediate level (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, some formulas) * Ability to learn new IT systems * Ability to manage multiple tasks, completing priorities and escalate or resolve issues appropriately with proven ability to meet financial deadlines * Accountability * Confidence and resilience in communication * Good communication and interpersonal skills, approachable and work well within a team. * Proactive and innovative.
