SUPPORT ENGINEER TRADING FIRM UP TO 38k FTC + POTENTIAL TO GO PERMANENT LONDON My client are a high calibre commodities trading company based in the city of London with a brand new requirement for a Support Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an incredibly enthusiastic and passionate engineer to instigate change. The company are at a turning point in IT and has taken the collaborative approach between development and operations/infrastructure. Role Scope: * Responsible for providing 1st/2nd line IT support for desktop, telephony, network, server, electronic trading and market data technology within the business. * Opening of support tickets and management of assigned tickets through to closure. * Assist IT Support Manager in ensuring compliance to corporate IT policy. Accountabilities: To at all times adhere to the Conduct Rules as set out in the Senior Manager & Certification Regime. * Ensuring that vendors engaged by the business work effectively and to the agreed plan and timescales. * Providing support to trading Front and Back Office staff in a pressurised environment. * Support Engineer for all aspects of the company's IT support. * This will involve working within the Support Team, management of assigned IT support tickets (from open to close), support ticket escalation where appropriate and ensuring ticket closures in a timely manner. * Setup of new desktop hardware & software. * Installation and support of desktop applications. * Work with and compliment the network, telecoms and server support services team. * Support the IT Support Manager across the range of responsible functions within the Support Team. * Assisting in keeping all relevant IT support documentation up to date. * Ad hoc project work as required. As this work involves day to day interaction with colleagues, vendors and on occasion clients the ability to work under pressure in a disciplined and organised fashion with a consistently positive and enthusiastic manner is essential. * Collaborative team member. * Excellent understanding of Investment Bank related technology. * Excellent understanding of installation and support of electronic trading and market data, applications. * Excellent understanding of Microsoft desktop technologies, including Windows 10, Office, Skype, etc. * Excellent understanding of desktop hardware and peripherals (Dell, HPE, Konica). * Good understanding of PC imaging processes and software installations (SCCM). * Good understanding of email and messaging applications. * Excellent methodical troubleshooting skills. * Able to work discreetly, to strict deadlines and able to maintain confidentiality. * Able to work with minimum supervision, good organisational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. * Understanding of ITIL processes. * Ambitious, determined and self-driven with respect to continual professional development. #LI-JF1
