Job Description
Operational Excellence Manager Sandy Ln, Worksop S80 3ET MBA Polymers is the world leader in producing post-consumer recycled plastics from end-of-life goods. Our customer base is broad some of which are the most renowned manufacturing organisations in the world. MBA Polymers can also boast the most technically advanced plastic recycling facilities on the planet and is changing the way the world views recycled plastic. Our site at Worksop is a joint venture with the global metal recycler, European Metal Recycling (EMR). Who are we looking for? MBA is looking for a Operational Excellence Manager to join their busy team based in Worksop. What you will be doing: * Scoping, initiating and delivering operational performance improvement projects * Developing a culture of continuous improvement making use of lean methodologies * Developing operational production focused capability to deploy lean tools to deliver performance improvement * Working with Learning & Development to develop 'Lean' educational and training interventions * Coaching operational management in support of continuous improvement * Encouraging the MBA culture with a 'can do' approach * Creating ' areas of best practice' as a means to demonstrate what's needed/expected within the business * Identifying and delivering specific improvement projects with a tangible impact on the bottom line * Establishing a framework of layered accountability (meetings and reports) and driving ownership of performance * Working with the site management team, establishing a culture of continuous improvement within MBA * Creating a suite of training & development interventions to support the development of a continuous improvement culture * Establishing a network of continuous improvement champions and practitioners * Establishing visual management within operational sites The successful candidate will have: * Strong practical leadership & influencing skills comfortable working across all levels of the organisation. * Proven project management capability * Proven operational delivery experience in a processing /manufacturing environment e.g. FMCG * Lean practitioner and trainer across a wide range of tools (inc. 8 wastes, Kaizen, visual management, 5S) * Working knowledge of Total Preventative maintenance (TPM) * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Be able to coaching & mentor * Previous delivery of bespoke solutions tailored to use the appropriate tools and methodologies for the organisation For the successful candidate, we can offer a thriving and stable working environment as well as opportunities to develop.
