Payroll Administrator Established in 1981, Poundstretcher is the UK's leading variety discount retailer for quality products across the 'Pounstretcher', "Pet Hut" and 'Pound Deals' brands. With 400 stores nationwide, Poundstretcher stocks a huge selection of great value products at competitive prices, including food, toiletries, kitchenware, bedding, bathroom products, furniture, electric goods, toys and pet care. We are currently looking to recruit a Payroll Administrator, to work at our busy Head Office in Huddersfield. This is a demanding fast paced role and requires the successful candidate to be extremely organised. With responsibility for ensuring the accurate and timely payment of employees monthly PAYE, we are looking for a Payroll Administrator who can deal with a wide variety of duties. Candidates must have at least 1 years experience ideally gained within a retail environment. A team player with a flexible attitude to work you will have a willingness to learn new procedures and practices and to assist other team members. You must possess the ability to communicate at all levels, be highly organised and work to strict deadlines. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build upon their existent payroll knowledge and experience where you will be able to contribute towards the continuous development of the payroll function. Key Responsibilities: * Statutory payments (SMP, SPP, SSP) * Resolving payroll queries for approx. 6000 store based colleagues * Prioritisation of own workload * Usage of iTrent payroll Module * Usage of Microsoft applications * Able to create manual payslips and workings.. * Maintaining employee records * Processing starters leavers and changes to payroll terms & conditions * Correspondence from third parties * Liaising with relevant departments including Stores and Human Resources * Application of confidentiality at all times * Personal Attributes & Qualifications: * Possess GCSE level qualifications or equivalent in Maths and English * IPPM or equivalent payroll qualifications are desirable but not essential * Minimum 1 years payroll experience * Excellent attention to detail * Approachable, with a willingness to assist others * Flexible attitude to work * Ability to work to strict deadlines * Highly organised with excellent communication skills
