A day in the life of a Payroll Manager We are on the hunt for a Payroll Manager to join our team who can help grow, shape and maintain our founder and startup community. You'll be a commercial-minded and an incredibly effective process-driven manager, with strong communication skills, and robust solutions. You'll feel right at home in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and pride yourself on having a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality. You'll be hands-on in the day-to-day by spending time across three key areas: You'll be hands-on in the day-to-day with... * Maintain client payroll records for all staff, including setting up new records, amendments to pay details, updating for leavers and any other adjustments. * Arranging payments for salaries where necessary, PAYE and pension payments for some clients. Submission of information to HMRC under RTI. Process weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll runs. * Client Payroll Enquiries by answering general client queries by written correspondence and by telephone. Dealing with HMRC correspondence. * Payroll Administration by processing P45s, Maternity Pay, statutory sick pay and other statutory payments & deductions.Filing and file preparation. * Basic administration and entry of data in respect of Client Payrolls. * Year-End Procedures to produce P60s and reconcile PAYE and NI deductions for the year. You should apply if you have: Significant experience of working on payrolls within the UK and internationally Thorough knowledge of payroll legislation and keeping up to date with new legislation. Knowledge of Word & Excel essential. Flexibility to visit clients to administer payrolls on site. Process management experience, with a keen eye for risk and control Strong analytical skills and background, financial acumen and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally and globally in a growing and fast-changing environment Understanding and detailed working knowledge of the UK Tax regimes (bonus if you have knowledge of Expat/Inpat Tax and Benefit regimes!) Acting as a point of contact for all payroll questions from all stakeholders Owning the payroll processes, and revising as necessary, taking into account new legislation changes, growth and risk factors Working closely with our payroll vendors, ensuring a strong working relationship and the highest standard of service levels Providing support on all payroll related projects including internal and external audits and annual reporting What we offer An opportunity to work with the world's leading tech startups .
