RESUSCITATION DEPARTMENT RESUSCITATION OFFICER (RO) Band 6 22.5 hours per week MUST be able to work all day Wednesday and have flexibility for the remaining days Salary - pro rata An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated individual to join the Resuscitation Department as a Resuscitation Officer. Previous experience as a Resuscitation Officer would be desirable. For a substantive Band 6 RO post you must have a recognised teaching qualification and a current Resuscitation Council (UK) instructor certificate for Advanced Life Support (or be on the Instructor pathway). We would consider applicants looking for a development opportunity. This would initially be a Band 6 fixed term contract. In order for the post to be made substantive you would be required to obtain the Resuscitation Council UK Advanced Life Support Instructor status and complete a recognised teaching qualification during the fixed term. European Paediatric Life Support or Advanced Paediatric Life Support provider or Instructor certificate is desirable. Primarily this is a teaching role and you will deliver adult and paediatric resuscitation training at a variety of levels to all Trust clinical staff and external clients. The post also involves undertaking defined projects related to the service (i.e. quality improvement projects) and attending Medical Emergency Team calls. This is a vital role for patient safety and for developing the knowledge and skills of all clinical staff. You will be a UK registered qualified nurse, ODP or paramedic with recent experience in an acute setting e.g. Intensive care, Coronary Care, Emergency Department or be working as a Resuscitation Officer. This post requires excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organisational skills, together with an ability to be very self-motivated and also work as part of a team.
