Job Description

We are looking to add a Technical UR Specialist to our growing consulting team. You will work on client facing projects, so previous experience in consultancy is beneficial to this role. The role offers a diverse opportunity with the need to wear multiple hats for different clients and projects. These hats range from technical development to deploying strategies, developing user requirements and reverse engineering as well as focusing on the user experience. We have an exciting and varied client list, that are located throughout the UK. Due to this, all applicants must be willing and able to travel and work away from home as part of this role. Requirements As the Technical UR Specialist, you will be working with legacy SAP data, reverse engineering them, providing steer and guidance on how to bring onto their new Azure platform and potentially building front end reporting in Power BI. The day to day varies greatly depending on the need of the customer and is primarily a hands-on role. To give you a good understanding of the types of duties associated with this role, we have outlined the below: Capturing data requirements at the client site using: * Persona building * Analysis Techniques * User Centric Design requirements Understanding the as-is legacy solution to: * Reverse engineer SAP logic/reports with business SMEs * Decipher value added insights and understand enhancements * Document, translate and support developers activities Developing data visualisation solutions using: * Power BI and similar toolsets Driving Self-service user adoption through * Mentoring and coaching others when it comes to business adoption of self-service BI * Demonstrating self-service tool capabilities through presentations and training * Semantic models (Power BI datasets, SSAS/AAS tabular models or similar) Essential Experience required We would like to hear from people with the following experience: * Working knowledge of SAP and Business Objects * Experience in using SQL for querying datasets * A good understanding of dimensional modelling * Experience in building reporting solutions in the Microsoft Power BI Stack or similar * Building/defining semantic models in SSAS, AAS, Power BI datasets or similar * Working knowledge of how to troubleshoot problems in the above technologies and languages * Working within the Agile/Scrum frameworks * Creating wireframes of the desired front end, creation of user stories and defining required data fields for the semantic model * Conducted UAT activities for approval from Product Owners and Stakeholders Experience in the following areas would be beneficial to the role: * Working knowledge of DAX, MDX and Power Query * Working knowledge of the Office 365 Suite and how it integrates with the Microsoft BI Stack * Experience with using technologies such as Tableau, QlikView, D3, R and Python * Azure Data Factory Benefits * Competitive starting salary * Up to 10% of basic salary in flexible benefits (to include death in service and critical illness cover as standard plus private healthcare, dental, pension etc.) * Up to 10% of basic salary in bonus * 25 Days holiday (plus bank holidays) increasing by a day every 2 years * Training and personal development * Bi-annual company retreats
