Job Description
**This is a virtual / 100% remote position based in the United Kingdom or Europe** What is Empowered Education? We are looking for a 100% remote DevOps Administrator team lead that has a technical background of a system administrator that knows their way around the AWS ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be able to gracefully translate the business needs of our company and execute the technical implementations on our infrastructure. You will coordinate between the teams that are dependent on the platforms you build and maintain. What You Will Do * Set up new database clusters * Create new mail transfer agents * Maintain and improve security standards in our company, and ensuring they are adhered to * Analyze system logs and come up with strategies to improve the platform * Prepare a new environments for upcoming new web applications * Provide oversight to a small support team * Communicate and collaborate with other department leads Requirements * Strong AWS platform experience oriented on system administration role OR strong Linux systems admin experience and willingness to learn an AWS ways of doing things * Understanding of basic network principles (routing, firewalling) * Relational SQL database administration in a cloud environment * Understanding how email delivery system works (MTA) * Ability to set up and debug web server * Version control (Git / Github) * Scripting skills - bash, AWS CLI tools * Ability to crunch through the logs and other data sources to track down attacks and implement fixes for them * Proven track record in implementing, maintaining and improving high volume web technologies Bonus Skills/Knowledge * AWS services: Elastic Beanstalk, WAF, SMS, IAM * Kubernetes * Salesforce architecture * Drupal/Wordpress * Database tuning and optimization Who We're Looking For * Great deal of pride in your work * Attention to detail * Excellent communication skills * Ability to articulate implementation strategies to non IT folk (decision makers, marketing team) * Ability to articulate implementation strategies to web developers * Ability to lead and mentor others * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong analytical skills * A passion to learn new technologies - Willingness to adopt new technologies * Have an enviable passion for automation/scripting Benefits About Empowered Education Empowered Education is the parent company of Health Coach Institute and Functional Nutrition Alliance.
