What we do: wokati Technologies provides fully-managed IT services for small to medium-sized enterprises throughout Yorkshire and the North-East of Engand. Who we need: We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to deliver both on-premise and remote technical support for one of our long-standing, loyal clients. Our client is an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Consulting Engineering practice with offices in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Durham. Their business is critically dependent on the availability, performance and security of their IT. What you will do: You will have overall account responsibility for the smooth running and protection of their IT, providing: * helpdesk support for the engineers via email and telephone, during UK business hours * on-premise support and remote management of their workstations, servers, printers, networking equipment and VoIP telephones * system administration of branch servers and the replication of data between them * management of their email accounts * management and monitoring of their daily cloud backups * up-keep of the ticketing system and knowledge base * management of Office 365 accounts and applications * installation and licensing of CAD applications * system administration of their corporate Windows Domain * monitoring of their fibre-to-the-building and wifi networks and access to the internet * management of their Virtual Private Network and connecting staff travelling and working from home What we expect: It's a big list with responsibility. Fundamentally, we are looking for someone who will naturally look after our client with competence and care. Requirements Level: This job would be suitable for someone trained already to a university degree level, and would now like to enter or develop their career as an IT Support professional at an associate level. Knowledge: wokati uses the latest enterprise-grade technologies and services to deliver it's desktop-to-datacentre solution for its clients. Specifically these include: * Freshdesk Ticketing System * Solarwinds Remote Management & Monitoring & Managed Anti-Virus * Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote * Windows 7 & 10 Pro desktops * CAD applications: AutoDesk AutoCAD & Revit, Bentley HevaComp * Windows Server 2016 + Active Directory Domain Administration + DFS-R Replication * Amazon AWS & Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies for customers' Virtual Private Clouds, Cloud Storage, Domain Name Service and Virtual Desktops * Apple Mac OS and iOS * Cloudberry MSP 360 for client backups AWS Cloud storage * voipfone, exponential-e, ai networks VoIP Telephony systems * exponential-e, ai networks Internet Service Providers * DrayTek Routers, Ubiquiti wifi Networking equipment * Office Network cabling * Dell Servers * PC Specialist custom-built computers * CyberEssenstials Security assessments * GDPR Privacy Assements * wokati Cloud Computers Self-Study: It is not expected that you will have in-depth knowledge or experience of all of the above. The job will involve daily visibility and touch of all the systems. The ability & motivation to pick up new skills fast is very important. You will be provided with all the training and tools to do a good job and develop your career from day 1. It is expected that you'd be familar and comfortable using the wokati systems after 3 months. Working from home: Our head office is situated on the Harewood Estate in the countryside between North Leeds and Harrogate. As our client is based in the North East, you will be provided with all the equipment needed to work from home most days. Driving: We anticipate that you would call into the branch offices of our client at least once a week, and our head office once a month.
