Transportation Lead

Job Description
Amazon is currently looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking Transportation Lead to join the Transportation team at our Coalville site. The role represents a critical function with Amazon EU Operations to continuously improve the service levels, capacities, and costs of the EU Transportation to ensure promises to the customers are being maintained. Your team's responsibilities: - Track existing metrics to detect & remove defects among the transportation network. - Transportation performance management to improve our delivery and develop or SOPs (e.g. on-time truck performance). -Assess the current transportation capacity and analyze the yearly forecast to design the yearly capacity strategy. - Perform market research and work in close collaboration with local transporters to source new service providers where the existing transporters (carrier) pool is not matching the forecast. - Work closely with carriers ensuring Amazon requirements are communicated & executed by Line Haul carriers - Develop truck forecast improvement initiatives and ensure it is shared with carriers and Fulfillment Centers on a regular basis - Drive Line Haul carrier allocation to routes/replacements (based on optimum of cost and performance) -Build the peak strategy, planning and execution for the fourth quarter. - Support the Operations Planning (OP) Process: goal settings - Prepare and participate recurrent Operations calls, business reviews and Customer Service workshops To be successful in this role, you need a passion for making data driven decisions which will have direct impact on customer experience. The ability to remain flexible and adapt to learning new tools and systems is instrumental in your role on the team. Qualifications - Solid working experience ideally gained in Operations or Procurement - Strong analytical skills - Customer driven approach and strong commercial understanding - A bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Mathematics or any numerical related topics - Excellent interpersonal skills / networking skills - Performance Management experience - Capacity management / forecasting experience - Fluent in English, excellent written skills, excellent narrative style preferred - Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on technical projects - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sophisticated projects and competing priorities simultaneously - Proven track record of delivering results in large, cross-functional initiatives - MBA preferred Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
