Job Description

Collective is building a benefits solution fit for the gig economy. The way we work is fundamentally changing with gig workers representing a significant and growing market in the UK and abroad. There are currently over 6 million gig workers in the UK, 33 million in the EU and 55 million in the USA. Whilst gig work comes with many advantages, it leaves many people underserved regarding their financial wellness compared to their employed peers. We're on a mission to fix this. We're a venture backed start-up with a big vision, grand ambitions and driven by purpose. Our founding team consists of respected entrepreneurs and operators who have founded and exited businesses and held senior positions at some of the best companies in the world including Aviva, Songkick, Virgin and Zomato. We're a warm, diverse and passionate group based out of Collective HQ in Central London. You'll be made to feel at home straight away, and join a supportive, considerate and loyal team that encourages responsibility. Role Summary As Business Development Manager at Collective Benefits, you will be the first sales hire to join our team and have the opportunity to drive client sales, build relationships and our presence with leading gig and freelance platforms. We are looking for an energetic and commercially-minded sales executive, with an aptitude for hitting targets and devising creative ways to exceed them. You'll have around 5-8 years of Business Development experience, ideally with a consultative sales approach, subscription-based product experience and a solid track record of winning new business. Our clients are the top gig and freelance platforms in the UK and you will be responsible for identifying key targets before as well as securing and delivering partnerships. As we are a rapidly growing company you will gain exposure to all areas of the business, understanding the key success drivers at an early stage company and gaining invaluable experience with significant scope for future development. An entrepreneurial, growth hacking, and commercial mindset will be key, together with an incredible amount of drive, analytical mindset, integrity and passion for our mission. Three reasons this role is great: * You're the first sales hire and have the ability to drive and build our sales pipeline, B2B presence and client partnerships from the ground up for the fastest growing workforce on the globe - the gig economy. * If you are looking to make a mark in your career and learn and grow quickly - this is the opportunity for you. We have big ambitions for growth, move at a fast pace, and work autonomously with the support of startup founders and senior tech leaders who have done this before. * You'll make a difference - we're building a business that will provide the protections that gig workers badly need. Requirements You will be leading client sign up of the UK's best gig and freelancer platforms, which includes: * Mapping and targeting gig economy and freelancer-driven marketplaces and companies * Generating leads, building and managing your sales pipeline * Managing the full sales process from pitching to demoing to closing * Effectively communicating Collective Benefits as a solution, building relationships and engaging in meaningful conversion across email and phone outreach through to meetings, events and social media * Employing a curious mindset and consultative sales approach - investigating and providing feedback to develop our proposition and market intelligence as required. About you You are commercially-minded, with an aptitude for hitting targets and devising creative ways to exceed them. You'll have a minimum of 5 years of Business Development experience, ideally with a subscription-based product, and a solid track record of winning new business. A strategic thinker, you'll be able to identify potential clients' pain points and be able to provide solutions by selling our services. A people person, you'll thrive in finding new opportunities, generating leads, and building your sales pipeline. You'll enjoy becoming an expert on the full range of our product offering and in the industry. A self-starter, someone who has an innovative approach to generating new business and the resilience to overcome setbacks along the way. You'll have a naturally curious mind, always looking to understand the people and businesses you approach and improve our proposition and business development. Finally, you'll have a great attention for detail and believe that streamlined processes and great organisation lead to success. The nuts and bolts: * You must be comfortable with targeting new business and have at minimum 5 years' proven sales experience, preferably in SAAS * Commercially minded with an analytical, solutions-driven approach * Great communication skills whether it be face to face, through phone or email * Ability to persuasively demonstrate product and industry knowledge to clients * You're tenacious, motivated, a self starter, a
