Job Description
Are you a leading Health & Safety Professional with experience of managing complex refurbishment and retro fit works in a live environment? If so, Build Space has a great contract role for you! Our client is a specialist fit out and building services contractor that supports major projects across the UK. They have recently secured a contract to fit out a large mezzanine extension to building in East London and they require a Health & Safety Manager to oversee these technically challenging works. The building will remain fully operational and the works will be at height so there is a significant health and safety position to consider. You will work as part of top management team, reporting into a Contracts Manager on a daily basis. This is a 6 month contract for a start in mid May 2020. Health & Safety Manager responsibilities: - Identifying any potential health and safety risks prior to works commencing on site. - Drafting a project specific health and safety plan in line with the company policy. - Ensuring all operatives, direct and subcontract, understand the health and safety plan and the standards they must work to. - Creating a health and safety focussed culture on site. - Producing Daily / weekly / monthly health and safety reports upline to senior management. - Acting a point of contact for any health and safety issues with client. Health & Safety Manager experience required: - Minimum 10 years Health & Safety Manager experience. - Major project experience, ideally with live environment experience. - Professional Health and Safety qualification at graduate or diploma level, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. - Excellent communication and reporting skills.
