Job Description

Job Purpose: To take on the new role of EMEA Head of Short-Term Interest Trading and lead and inspire the European team of traders who trade STIR products. This will involve quoting customers, building the franchise, generating trade ideas and meeting revenue targets, as well as people management. Job background/ context: The Short-Term Interest Trading desk is part of the Rates & Currencies Trading business and performs market-making and customer trading activity in foreign exchange i.e. FX spot, forwards and swaps both deliverable and non-deliverable. Hedging with OTC, exchange traded and correlated debt products. This role will report to the Global Head of STIR Trading. Key responsibilities: + Running a trading franchise, to ensure that we remain a top provider of FX STIR products to our diverse global client base. Build, maintain and grow #1 ranking based on all external surveys (Greenwich, Coalition, etc...) + Deliver on revenue targets subject to appropriate levels of risk. + Managing the EMEA team of traders and trading managers in London + Generating trade ideas across the STIR space and ensure client connectivity both individually and from the global team. + Being a partner and responsible for driving technology, e-business platforms, pricing systems + Managing risk at trader level and helping to build the RTR system and other risk initiatives and insuring discipline + Recruitment, training and mentoring of junior staff and new hires + Supervision of desk liquidity and risk limits, and ensuring a strong framework for conduct risk management and supervisory control Development value: Responsible for building on existing STIR business by increasing the internal and external customer base. Continue to work with the existing team and develop skills, thereby demonstrating leadership skills. Person specification: Knowledge/ experience: Very strong experience market making in STIR products. A strong understanding of all financial markets and current events are necessary. Strong people management skills, as the team is geographically dispersed and proven leadership skills in running a trading team. Skills: Strong PC skills, analytical and strong work ethic. Understanding the mechanics of pricing and distributing FX pricing across Spot and STIR with strong interactions with the technology teams supporting the book of work Competencies: - Highly motivated - Proven track record - Ability to lead - Ability to lead and work in a team environment - Integrity Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the Certification Regime.
