Job Description

We are seeking Sr. SAS Administrator to oversee administration, including installation, implementation, configuration, maintenance, coordination, problem resolution, testing, usage and performance monitoring, tuning and the design development of SAS system on premise and cloud environment. Position: SAS Administrator Location: London, UK Responsibilities: * Manage and maintain SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya * Apply updates and hotfixes as required for both SAS 9.4 * Configure SAS connections to required data sources for SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya. * Assist users with access to source data. * Define user libraries as needed to source data including Oracle, Teradata, and Hadoop. * Add and maintain user accounts for SAS 9.4 environments using SAS Management console and Environment Manager. * Work with system administrators to resolve issues and modify SAS environments which require root access. * Work with end-users to resolve errors. * Work with SAS technical support to resolve end-user issues. Skills Required * Experience administering SAS platform in a multi-node GRID environment with Linux/Windows OS. * Hands-on experience as a SAS administrator in a Linux and Cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP) * Administer, Maintain and tune the SAS GRID Environment. Provides SAS Platform capacity planning, metrics and performance tuning recommendations. * Must be very knowledgeable with SAS LSF (setting up queues and managing nodes) * Must have experience with SAS Environment Manager. * SAS administration experience with SAS Viya is required. * Experience defining Servers and changing server definitions. * Knowledge of SAS configuration files such as autoexec, configuration and environment files. * Starting and stopping servers. * Backup strategies and implementation. * Experience monitoring grid and make sure that nodes are balanced with SAS generated code running efficiently across grid * Working knowledge of LSF as it pertains to the SAS grid. * Ability to install hot fixes, service packs, upgrades as well as add-on software components. * Understand basic Linux commands that will enable you to monitor SAS jobs, ability to move around in a Linux environment as required for basic functioning of SAS and a good understanding of how Linux and SAS are integrated. * Thorough understanding of SAS products and how they work together in an environment. * Understanding server security and folders and how they relate to SAS folders and security * Experience in troubleshooting SAS Platform and client issues to root cause * Good written and spoken communications skills in English and thought-leadership skills * A minimum of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in a related field is required.
