Specific Duties Graduate Engineers will initially join either the Development or Design & Consultancy teams, supported by your development plan and coaching from other staff, specific duties may include: Bid Development: Identify Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) at potential customer sites Carry out energy audits and surveys Prepare capital cost and energy savings models for each ECM Prepare the technical write up for inclusion in bid submission Present technical solutions at bid meetings Feasibility studies (High Level Appraisals): Assessment of existing system configuration and operation at client sites Compilation and analysis of data Conceptual design of energy related projects Preparation of final report and presentation Scheme Design (Front End Design/Investment Grade Audits) Further definition of conceptual design from feasibility stage including on-site assessments as necessary Finalise scheme selection Develop heat and mass balance for the selected scheme Prepare full equipment list with performance/sizing/selection for key energy equipment, all major pipework lines, pumps (including pressure capabilities), heat exchangers including definition of control philosophy Prepare P & ID, layout and scheme drawings Produce an outline work package for contractor to provide pricing and assess accordingly Develop savings calculations and pricing to +/- 10% for project capital approval Compliance/ Consultancy ESOS audits Supporting clients with carbon compliance schemes e.g. EU-ETS, CCA, CCL, CHP-QA, MPCD Detailed Design and Commissioning Assist in finalisation of project design, P & ID, equipment selection and layout Provide technical support to the project implementation team throughout the implementation period HAZOP and technical review meetings as required Attend site to support commissioning and performance trials General Duties as follows: To update the company's work monitoring systems with accurate details Assist in improving operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service Sales and business development General office duties Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Engineering degree preferably in chemical, mechanical or electrical Working knowledge of one or more energy-saving technologies such as gas engine/gas turbine CHP, steam and hot water systems, chillers, solar PV, wind turbines, heat pumps, battery storage, BEMS, LED Lighting, and Variable Speed Drives Strong communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Strong team-working skills Eligible to work in the UK Desirable Qualifications/Experience: Masters or other further study related to energy solutions and compliance e.g. Bioenergy, Energy Economics and Policy, Energy Storage, Renewable Energy, Low Carbon Technologies Previous work experience of energy related or field engineer work Experience with safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project regulations, practices, and codes Personal Attributes: The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and have a flexible approach to work. They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines. They will have strong analytical skills to understand complex energy systems and identify opportunities for improvement. They will demonstrate creativity and initiative to innovate new projects, develop existing models, and apply new analysis techniques. The job requires the willingness to travel across UK and Europe, while based in Central London.
