Job Description
Graduate Systems Support Engineer with a 2.1 or 1st class degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science or Maths from a highly regarded university with a strong interest in networking technologies, systems administration (Linux / Windows), Python, cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure) combined with a love of problem solving, troubleshooting, root cause analysis to get involved in triage, prioritisation, optimisation, and diagnostic and analysis tool development experience is required by a fast-growing, award-winning company that develops video conferencing software for businesses, has over 3,000 global partners and customers and whose functionally rich product has ensured firm establishment in the market and partnerships with Google and Microsoft. Salary: £37K plus share options and benefits Experience or interests that would be helpful include: * Sound knowledge of networking technologies / network protocols * Linux systems administration / Window Systems Administration * Run your own network / lab / cloud set up or have some commercial experience in an infrastructure engineer / support role etc * Cloud computing such as AWS, GCP, Azure * Coding skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell and an interest in infrastructure automation * An understanding or distributed systems * Web technologies * Video conferencing protocols: SIP, H.323 and WebRTC * Great communication, collaboration and self-management skills * An unfailing enthusiasm for providing top notch customer support and resolving technical issues Role and Responsibilities: * Working with customers to troubleshoot reported problems, identify root cause, and resolve the issue. ● Able to triage technical situations effectively and efficiently. ● Capable of evaluating multiple different resolution paths and evaluating best possible outcomes independently and with customer service owners. ● Able to communicate highly technical issues to non-technical people to explain why issues are occurring and what can be done to improve the situation. ● Able to effectively prioritize cases based on urgency, impact, and customer need. ● Development of tools to help diagnostics and analysis. ● Identify and recommend possible optimization tasks to customers. ● Communicate and work closely with the sales team related to ongoing events with customer situations.
