Job Description
Role Summary: The Lean Sensei will champion lean transformation and continuous improvement for the Digital Solutions (DS) Division of Baker Hughes, a GE Company. This role will partner with senior leadership to develop and deploy our lean enterprise program to enable the DS Operating System. You will help to shape the vision and guide DS through an enterprise lean journey by applying your expertise to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of our transformation. The Lean Sensei will coach & mentor leaders and operational teams, disseminate knowledge, and promote a lean mind-set. You will apply lean methodologies and tools to deliver operational improvements to improve customer value, growth the business, and significantly impact safety, quality, delivery, cycle and cost. Essential Responsibilities: + Coach and mentor employees at all levels of the organization (fromexecutive leaders to shop floor) + Be a champion for enterprise lean deployment, aligning the businessprocesses to customer needs and eliminating waste + Collaborate with the seniorleadership team to define an ambitious plan for continuous, strategic processimprovement + Use strategy deployment totranslate the transformational vision into specific goals and priorities,linking lean initiatives to business KPIs + Be responsible forpartnering with Lean, Operations and Business Leaders to define the key valuestreams that will have the greatest impact on our customer and the businessperformance + Use value stream analysisto focus and drive improvement at plant and business levels as identified perstrategy deployment + Go to Gemba and lead Kaizenevents to quickly find and implement solutions + Advance organizationalmaturity and buy in of lean by broadly increasing leader and employeeparticipation in Gemba and Kaizen + Ensure consistentapplication of lean tools and principles + Partner with leadership tocreate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement + Assist the business in thedevelopment and deployment of key performance indicators (KPIs) Qualifications/Requirements: + Minimum 10 years of experience in lean leadership roles + Track record developing and building Lean/continuous improvementprograms + Practical application of lean at best in class continuous improvementcompanies; e.g., Toyota Danaher, UTC, John Deere etc. + Supported at least one large scale Lean Transformation across functionsat the enterprise level + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university + Willingness and ability to travel when needed(80% travel) Desired Characteristics: + Expert in the Toyota Production System + Master of lean tools andpractices including strategy deployment, VSM, Kaizen, poka-yoke, standard workand continuous flow + Influential, energetic, andenthusiastic leader, with the drive, ambition and resilience to make thingshappen and deliver outstanding performance + The successful candidatemust be able to manage at all levels, from the executive suite to theproduction floor and all layers in between. He/she must also be comfortablelending advice, influencing senior leaders, and giving direction at all levels.Proven capability to work cross-functionally + Lean sensei/mastercertification a plus but not required Locations: + London - W6.
