United Kingdom - Glasgow, Glasgow Job Summary You will be a Chartered Engineer (or have started the registration process) with proven system safety planning and assessment experience. You will be part of the Rail Assurance and Advisory team. Job responsibilities include: + Developing System Safety plans + Development of system definitions + Deliver hazard identification and hazard analysis requirements using appropriate hazard analysis types and techniques + Development of safety measures and option selections + Development and delivery of safety documents as required to support customer requirements + Evaluate the interrelationship of system safety requirements and aspects of system design and development requirements + Develop statements of work and work packages with clients + Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor forteam + Provides specialized technical input to studies and design forstaff's specific area of expertise. + Develops study and design procedures to facilitate highquality cost effective work by others. + Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. + Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects. + Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package. + Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings. + Prepares technical specification sections. + Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meetrequirements. Minimum Requirements + Engineering degree or equivalent + Have a working knowledge of andable to develop Risk Assessments + Able to undertake HAZIDs/ HAZOPs and develop Safety Cases + Hazard Record/Log management + Knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations + Possess excellent oral and written communication skills + Strive for technical excellence + Preferred Qualifications/Requirements Preferred Qualifications + Chartered Engineer and member of a professional institution + Railway Systems experience + CSM-REA and TSI experience + Knowledge of EN50126/8/9 Your benefits will include: Helping our employees achieve a healthy work-life balance is important to us.
