The Role You will join a small existing team of Backend engineers focused on designing and building data-driven platforms and products. We have a busy year ahead, so you'll need to be able to get up to speed quickly and be comfortable in a start-up environment. You will put customers first, be technically-minded and creative, passionate about what you do. In addition, you should be excited to help us fulfill our mission to transform medical research, for good by building elite products and services. Responsibilities In the next 12 months: You will be responsible for the design, development, modification and maintenance of all aspects of the Antidote platform. Our entire service is built Python 3, Flask, GCP, Kubernetes at React.js. The role involves working closely with the Product team to design and build novel datasets and products. Specific responsibilities will include: * Designing and delivering new platform capabilities specifically around data analysis and insights. * Designing and implementing cloud infrastructure to power the Antidote platform. * Providing accurate timing estimates on work. * Building reusable code and libraries for future use. * Integrating our platform with 3rd party services to extend capabilities. Requirements * A wealth of commercial experience in a Python environment, ideally including current experience in Python 3. * Experience building Restful APIs using Python and SQL. * Strong data modelling and SQL skills. * Hands-on experience building a high-traffic consumer web product or application, such as online banking, e-commerce, gaming, or an online marketplace. * A strong sense of urgency. * Excellent communication skills. * Dedication to delivering high-quality work in product-focused teams. We'd be excited if you have any of the below: * Experience in a start-up company * Experience of, or interest in, high-performance Python strategies. * Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Docker and Kubernetes. * Knowledge of, or interest in, statistics and machine learning. * Experience in search or information retrieval, including ontology management.
