Job Category Actuarial Target Openings 2 Job Description Summary We are recruiting for 2 Trainee Actuaries to join our team on an 18 month fixed term basis. We will look to hold an assessment centre in early May. Under close supervision, provides analytical and actuarial support to the Corporate Actuarial team in estimating reserves and calculating regulatory and economic capital in order to help achieve the company's objectives for profitability and growth. Provide assistance to senior members of the Corporate Actuarial team to achieve the objectives for a Lloyd's syndicate and several European entities in one or more of the following areas: Reserving: Improve the understanding of results, their drivers, and likely future trends through analysing current and historic data. This includes data manipulation and producing summaries of results via graphs and tables. Process Efficiencies: Working with the process efficiency actuary to seek opportunities to simplify, streamline and automate actuarial processes. This involves gaining an understanding of how data flows through the company and proposing process improvements using the latest available database technology and software. Capital: Building and parameterising capital models for annual model updates, regulatory submissions, economic capital calculations and scenario testing. This will involve gaining an understanding of how all parts of the business function, with the modelling being done using the most advanced capital modelling software on the market (Tyche). We ask applicants to have completed and gained a minimum of a 2:1 degree in a numerical subject. As part of this role you will be encouraged to undertake an apprenticeship in this area to provide you with further support.
