THG Is looking to recruit a Cost Engineer to support the team managing major construction projects for the Group. Reporting into the Group Project Director and working within the THG Projects Team you will contribute cost/finance engineering expertise to deliver multiple engineering/civil projects across an extensive project portfolio working alongside the nominated Project Managers. You will be responsible for the invoicing process, forecasting and overall financial SAGE management within the portfolio. Responsibilities: * Develop and maintaining cost breakdown structures (CBS) across the portfolio of live and emerging works, introducing specific KPIs/budgets which can be tracked and monitored * Manage and assign team hours to the CAPEX cost centres established based on Project delivery and requirements against budgeted estimates * Prepare cost reports for the Project Director and project specific Project Managers as required, and reporting formally on a monthly basis to central finance functions * Assisting the PMs in the production and update of cash flow / expenditure forecasts Estimates at Completion (EAC) * Cost monitoring and reporting of sub consultant invoices and advising the Project Managers of payments due/outstanding (SAGE interface) * Establish a system to measure actual cost data for earned value analysis and input within the relevant sections of the PMs reporting documents * Weekly updates to programmes and reports including milestone and cost variation updates * Supply Chain management, PO generation, Invoice management, New supplier setup, and SAGE account generation to support the CAPEX project team * Manage cost & schedules parallel to report on CPI/SPI/EAC performance on a monthly basis * Promote a professional working culture and ethic within the THG Projects department Requirements To be considered you will need to have * CIMA/ACCA qualified/Near qualification/equivalent * SAGE trained and qualified with extensive experience of how the system can be used for forecasting and reporting to remove duplicate admin * Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Advanced Excel, including V lookups, pivot tables and macros is a requirement * A highly experienced financial control and reporting professional with extensive experience in a fast moving and dynamic environment (Construction / Distribution desirable) * Extensive knowledge in financial controls, external and internal audits and financial reporting * Experience of leading and managing a team of varied experience (Area due to expand in the team) * Ability to create a supportive coaching environment as both graduates and apprentices join the team to support all areas * Understanding of the preparation of corporate tax and capital allowance returns * Ability to manage own workload to meet deadlines and timeframes applicable * Good IT Skills - able to operate at high competence level in MS Office suite particularly PowerPoint, Word & Excel * Confidence to present and chair weekly meetings, which will also include delivering updates to the relevant Project Managers and the Group Projects Director Appreciation of the below would be advantageous: * Advanced Microsoft Project scheduling experience * Familiar with working under NEC3 & JCT contracts Benefits We offer: * Competitive salary * Onsite Doctor * Employee discounts * Company bonus scheme * Company pension scheme
