Overview
A new role has arisen for an experienced legal aid law costs draftsman to join a well-respected law firm in Greater Manchester. Knowing Legal Aid is essential for this role, with at least 2 years' relevant experience being needed. The firm is offering a competitive salary banding, long term progression and will consider part-time/flexible hours, they will also reimburse ACL training & membership fees for anyone who is looking to commence this training or who is partway through. Based in this Manchester office, you will be working as part of a busy costs team alongside a solicitor, costs draftsman and administrator and you will be required to be technically competent, highly numerate and have a meticulous eye for detail. As the legal aid law costs draftsman, duties include: Preparing bills using CostsMaster and experience of this system would be a definite advantage. Experience of accurately costing civil and/or family files is required Experience of preparing costs schedules and inter parties bills would be an advantage in a more senior applicant Preparing and processing bills for assessment by the court and claims for costs to the LAA in Family (Public and Private Law) and Housing (Civil) matters and preparation of legal aid high-cost cases plans. Deals with correspondence to see costs matter through from start to finish.
