Job Description

We are recruiting! Band 3 Support workers Based initially at our Whalley site in Lancashire but then transferring to Maghull in Liverpool. We are looking for motivated, hard working and enthusiastic support workers with excellent values to support adults with a learning disability within a forensic secure setting. You must have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual and work well in a team, being adaptable to changing situations. You will need to be able to work calmly and efficiently within a busy and intensive environment dealing with unpredictable situations whilst remaining focused on providing a person centred approach to care and treatment. The Trust provides services that offer opportunity for people to progress through pathways to more independent community living. People who use our services typically have a range of complex needs and require support in Medium & Low Secure services and may have come into contact with Ministry of Justice. We also operate non secure moving on facilities. This is an exciting time to join the Trust and influence the development of new services for people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues. The Trust's services operate within the least restrictive principle and have adopted modern training approaches to 'No Force First' and 'Perfect Care'. We are developing new 123 bed joint Mental Health and Learning Disability Medium Secure Unit at the Maghull Health Park in Maghull, Merseyside, and it is anticipated that medium secure services will remain at Whalley until summer 2020 Low secure services will remain at Whalley until further notice. When the new Medium Secure Unit is ready there will be a requirement for staff to transfer to the new MSU building.
