Overview
Connect2Kent are looking for a full time Administrative District Assistant to work in a busy Special Educational Needs department in Gravesend to administer all routine aspects of the statutory assessment process within a defined District, working office based with Children and Young People from the age of 0 to 25 years. Main duties and responsibilities: To work on specific administrative tasks including monitoring and responding to generic team email inbox. Dealing with external and internal stakeholders around the SEN therapies work. Ensure that new referrals received for children and young people (CYP) are processed and added to future meeting agendas. Including any relevant information is handled in line with current data protection legislation and maintaining internal tracking tools. Contacting area SEN teams to gather information about specific CYPs on request. Provide comprehensive administrative support around diary management for the Head of service and the wider service diary. Follow up on queries with suppliers in relation to the Assistive Technology Equipment Panel (ATEP). Including preparing any handover paperwork, collections and deliveries of faulty equipment from schools. Working and carrying out tasks as part of the multi-organisational administrative team (NHS and KCC) on a daily basis. This includes setting up and tidying away meeting rooms, answering the phone and the front door. Being mindful of health and safety and working to fixed deadlines and presenting a high professional standard. Assist in organisation of regular and one-off events and training ensuring that the whole process runs smoothly and that every administrative aspect is covered. Including preparing and circulating agendas, minute and note taking and managing delegate lists. Support the information officer in any work tasks that are required which could include working for KCC SEN, KCC ATEP, Kent and Medway Communication and Assistive Technology Service (KM CAT), the Head of service and senior managers working across a number of work streams. Working in line with communications strategies and established house style and document management systems. These may differ between the different services that are being supported. Requirements: A BDS check is required for this post at a cost of £25 as you will be working with sensitive information.
