Overview
We have an opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our team on a permanent, full time basis in Northfleet. Within this role, you will support the Engineering Manager and act as his deputy in the achievement of functional objectives that support the Site/Plant and Company Business Plan. Working closely with the production team to continuously improve site overall equipment effectiveness, people development and a lean culture, you will develop and lead all engineering functions as agreed with the Engineering Manager. Ensuring risk assessments/COSSH/RIDDOR, etc. are implemented and undertaken, you will support the engineering team, working on shift, mentoring the team and ensuring that PPMs, SSOWs and working procedures are followed. In addition, you will support the engineering manager to plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment as per production requirements. Educated to HNC level Engineering qualification or equivalent, you will have completed an apprenticeship and have experience of electrical/mechanical/steam operations. You will have experience of PC based planned preventative maintenance systems and utility usage metrics. A self-motivated individual, you will have an analytical approach, a high attention to detail and will be able to read drawings and make decisions. With excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team you will be a methodical person who can react quickly to the needs of the business.
