Housing Litigation Solicitor or Paralegal Eventus Legal are working with a very strong, highly regarded multi-office regional practice which is eager to appoint either an experienced Housing Litigation Solicitor or a Housing Litigation Paralegal to its well established Housing Litigation Team and be based at the practices’ office which is based in the heart of Mansfield. Role responsibilities The practice continues to enjoy a sustained increase in instructions across a number of sectors, particularly within its Housing Litigation Team. As such, the firm is eager to consolidate its Housing Litigation offering at both a senior and a junior level. At the senior end, the firm is keen to appoint an experienced Housing Litigation Solicitor or Legal Executive who is well versed in acting on behalf of tenants largely on a Legal Aid funded basis. You work collaboratively with the Partner and Head of Department and you will really will help to take the lead in running the Legal Aid Team. At the junior end, the practice is looking to appoint a paralegal who can demonstrate a minimum of 12 months’ experience of handling a their own caseload of property litigation or housing litigation cases and who has a genuine desire to really focus on the needs of tenants. For both roles you will handle your own caseload of housing litigation matters which will comprise a broad remit of matters to include housing disrepair, unlawful evictions, possession proceedings, anti-social behaviour as well as general landlord and tenant disputes. At the senior end, you will also work with a large degree of autonomy and be able to help alleviate some of the duties which are currently undertaken by the Partner, so you really will have a tangible input into how the department is shaped moving forwards. Person specification At the senior end, the firm is open to speaking with a Housing Litigation Solicitor or Legal Executive who has a minimum of 3 years’ PQE of handling housing litigation matters and any management or supervisory experience will be looked up favourably. At the junior end, the practice is eager to speak to those who have a minimum of 12 months’ experience in either a housing or property litigation role and who are enthusiastic about progressing their career in the specialist housing litigation sector. What is important, regardless of your level within the team, is that you have excellent client care skills, are well organised, have solid attention to detail and are keen to make a difference to tenants who find themselves in difficult situations which are often not of their own making.
