Senior Chef - Excellent hours
Overview
We are recruiting for a senior chef to join our kitchen. The hotel is owner-managed and has grown its food operation significantly in the last 18 months since change of ownership, hence the new role. We serve gastro pub style food in our bar which serves locals, hotel guests and visitors to the area. We are committed to fresh, local and seasonal produce with all menu items cooked on site. We also do a range of ‘food-led’ events throughout the year and in particular in the quieter months and this is an opportunity for more creativity in the kitchen. There is scope to expand the evening food offering into the dining room. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for food who wants to have a senior role in a kitchen whilst maintaining a work-life balance. It is anticipated that the hours for this role will be either 4 days on / 4 days off or 4 days one week/3 the next. This will be a seasonal position in the first instance with the potential to become permanent. The role involves: · Creating and costing menus · Managing an interesting specials board · Managing and being accountable for stock · Smooth and efficient running of kitchen · ensuring the quality of food meets our standard and meets current Food & Hygiene laws. · Coaching and motivating kitchen team Whitebridge Hotel is a small, but busy hotel, on the South side of Loch Ness, 25 miles from Inverness. Bella and Lesley, the owners, pride themselves in providing warm, welcoming and friendly service to all who come to eat, drink or stay at the hotel. This is achieved by providing great food, drinks and comfortable accommodation. We have an excellent team in place who work hard and create a nice working environment.
