Overview
Civil 3D Modeller required on a 4-6 month contract to work on international projects from home. This position is Outside IR35. General Responsibilities: Work with minimal supervision in defined areas of responsibility; ? Ensure company and/or project specific standards are adhered too and standard methods and procedures are followed; ? Responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of own and others' work; ? Responsible for meeting agreed deadlines; ? Represents the team/group/profession/discipline at external meetings; and ? May in addition be responsible for one or more of the following: o Responsible for defined parts of external design projects; o Responsible for developing/organising events, activities, processes, and internal projects of some complexity; o Responsible for the development of others, providing guidance, training and feedback; and o Participate in BIM initiatives and assist with the ongoing development of Digital Engineering Duties & Responsibilities: ? Lead the Civil Engineering CAD and modelling team from a Quality and Assurance perspective. ? Produce review and critique civil engineering drawings produced within the team. ? Monitor model aggregation and hierarchy and when necessary refine work sharing procedures and data requirements; ? Track the development of the Civil Model and revise the Model Element Definitions to suit the progress of the project; ? Ensure BIM Execution plan and Project Standards are adhered to by project team; ? Create, modify and review 3D models using computer aided design (CAD) applications including but not limited to: AutoCAD 2D, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD and 3D Studio Max; ? Be able to read and understand Architectural drawings & models and produce Structural Models, drawings and details under the guidance of a Structural Engineer; ? Be able to model, draw and detail structural elements and create custom families where necessary; ? Produce models, layouts, detailed drawings, and schedules and when required produce visualisations from 3D models for use in technical reports, presentations and marketing material; ? Graphically translate verbal and visual instructions and carryout revisions accordingly; ? Assist with the preparation of technical documentation accurately representing engineering & design intent; ? Review and update shop drawings when necessary; ? Validate Structural Models to ensure that all models comply with Company/Project QA/QC requirements; ? Prepare models for exchange and coordination with other disciplines, consultants and contractor/fabricators; ? Maintain project specific library of families and develop new families as required along with other project specific content; and ? Demonstrate capability and experience in delivering projects in a dynamic, design lead environment. Qualifications: Industry relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification; Professional Degree Preferred Specific skills required: ? Capable of carrying out a wide array of tasks, responsibilities, and commitments efficiently and simultaneously; ? Can effectively communicate clearly and concisely and is able to listen and actively seeks to understand instruction; ? Able to identify and solve problems in a creative and timely manner with sound judgment; ? Consistently produces work of the highest standard and has advanced design and production skills; ? Checks their own work and complies with company/project standards and procedures; ? Proficient in the use of Civil 3D, Navisworks and AutoCAD; ? Familiar with 3rd party BIM applications including but not limited to 3DS Max, Google Earth and as well as Microsoft Office; ? Familiar with the IFC data structure and modelling concept; ? Knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Works, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors NRM1 and PAS 1192-2:2013 Specification for information management for the capital/delivery phase of construction projects using building information modelling; ? Familiar with the principles of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). ? BIM integration and data management Personal Specification: ? A desire to learn and a willingness to adapt; ?
