Overview
On behalf of one of our blue-chip clients we are now recruiting for a Freelance Site Engineer to work on a scheme close to the border with North Wales. Despite the ongoing uncertainty it has been confirmed that this is a genuine requirement and there may be the ability because of the stage of the scheme be able to work some hours from home should the government enforce further restrictions due to Covid-19. Main Duties Setting out using total stations, GPS equipment, and to be able to undertake traditional setting out using profiles, batter rail and pegs Read and review construction drawings Undertake basic take-off’s Raising technical queries with designers and other members of the client team Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures We are seeking someone who is a proactive problem solver, a confident communicator, with the ability to work effectively within a large site team. You must have previous demonstrable experience of cut and fill earthworks, drainage as well as both steel and reinforced concrete structures. Experience working for a main contractor would be preferred. You must also have a CSCS card. We will accept applications from Engineers who do not carry their own kit but there will a supplement in pay rate to those who do.
