Lead Test Engineer
Overview
Your experience of software and integration testing, and knowledge of Agile methodology could make an instant impact with my client; A dynamic and innovative organisation at the forefront of Cyber engineering within the Defence sector. Due to a strong workload, they are looking to recruit a Lead Test Engineer in Cheltenham to join their rapidly growing Test Function. The successful candidate will provide automation testing expertise ensuring that technically challenging and complex business critical systems are thoroughly tested and fit for purpose through the application of both traditional and cutting edge testing techniques under an Agile way of working which creates a dynamism not usually found outside of start-ups. The ability to innovate within test is key and we have immediate opportunities for test engineers who can help develop and maintain automated test solutions within their rapidly growing portfolio of agile projects. To be a successful Lead Test Engineer you would be expected to have the following; ISTQB Foundation/Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing Firm understanding of both SDLC and common testing practices, including functional, performance, integration, system and non-functional testing Ability to translate both business and technical requirements into testable scenarios Proven data analysis skills A knowledge and ability to use common testing tools, including Atlassian toolset, Jmeter, HP ALM, defect tracking tools Experience of automation testing using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Jmeter Experience of configuration management tools including Git, Stash Experience of continuous integration systems incorporating Jenkins, Bamboo or Docker Knowledge of Agile development practices, including Scrum or Kanban The ability to work as part of a high performing Agile team The ability to identify opportunities to, and preferably implement, automated test solutions Experience of developing all levels of test documentation, including test strategies Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, analytical, planning and written/verbal communication skills Desire to learn and grow within a high performance and flexible workspace In addition the following skills are highly desirable: Programming languages, particularly Java Scripting languages, such as Python, Javascript or Bash Experience of DevOps practices Experience of UK Government working practice Experience of line management or team leadership Experience of cross functional team working Knowledge of network messaging testing Knowledge of distributed data stores such as Oracle or Mongo ISTQB or equivalent Certified Agile Tester Additional testing qualifications via ISTQB or other recognised body Overview oLead Test Engineer oCheltenham oNegotiable oPermanent Keywords Test, Leader, Manager, Agile, ISTQB, SDLC, Functional test, Performance test, Integration, System test, Non-functional test, Data analysis, Atlassian toolset, Jmeter, HP ALM, Defect tracking tools, Automating testing, Configuration management, Test documentation, Scripting, DevOps Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens.
