New role in for an experienced small works estimator/ surveyor with established contractor in Somerset Your new company Our client is a respected local contractor who have been providing clients with a high level of service for over 40 years across the south west. Services include new build, extension, renovation and maintenance of commercial and domestic projects up to £250,000 in value. They have a philosophy of working closely with their customers and guiding them through the build process, rather than taking a more contractual stance to projects. Your new role They are looking to take on a competent and organised commercial professional to lead the estimating and quantity surveying functions within the special works division and to help the business in a sustainable, profitable manner. Duties include pricing projects, subcontract negotiation and management, producing variations, submitting valuations and final accounts. What you'll need to succeed You will be a strong team player with a sharp commercial mind, but with the ability to deal with customers in an empathic way, rather than being overly contractual. Our client has developed some excellent long-term relationships with their client base and their philosophy is to deliver the best product at the best value, rather than taking an excessively contractual approach to business. Just as important is to maintain the good will and trust with their subcontractors.
